Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week 2016

Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week – March 2016

Hua Hin, Thailand, 27 October 2015 — Almost 100 club golfers from 10 countries are expected to contest the Amari Hua Hin Golf Week 13-19 March 2016.

This week-long tournament for players over the age of 35 includes 4 rounds of Championship golf plus nightly social and entertainment events. Also catering for non-golfers, tours are provided of the region’s popular attractions and tourism experiences.

The host of this unique golfing experience is the Amari Hua Hin. Hua Hin has long been a magnet for Thai and foreign holiday makers and the Amari Hua Hin is ready to offer sophisticated comfort and exclusive services. Situated near the glittering Gulf of Thailand, the resort offers thoughtful accommodation in an idyllic garden setting.

Guests can choose from a variety of 223 modern rooms ranging from deluxe rooms to expansive suites. The rooms are stylishly furnished and offer guests spacious living areas with modern amenities. Breakfast can be enjoyed at their restaurant Mosaic while seafood specialties are served at the Shoreline Beach Club.

The hotel is up market without being pretentious and a great choice for a Hua Hin golf vacation. Hua Hin is Thailand’s original beach resort, now sporting a great selection of golf courses. For over 75 years now, the Hua Hin beach resort has been a popular holiday area for affluent Thais and foreigners alike. Although it still retains the intimacy of a village, it has successfully incorporated modern luxuries without the commercialism of other resorts. Holidaymakers can stroll down and explore Hua Hin’s winding roads with a great variety of shops, boutiques, superb restaurants and night markets.

Hua Hin is unlike any other beach resort in Thailand. If you’re looking for bright lights and the frantic all-night action of cabarets and discos you may be disappointed here. However, if you enjoy walks through the quiet streets of a friendly coastal village, sampling delicious seafood in restaurants overlooking the brightly lit fishing boats on the Gulf of Thailand or a round of golf on one of the several international-standard links, Hua Hin could very well be what you’re looking for; Hua Hin has a special character all its own.

Golfers will experience the best of the best and play at four world-class courses. Springfield Royal Country Club is one of the oldest courses in the area. The course leaves nothing to be desired. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and featuring his signature layout, it was always intended to be a championship course. From the first hole to the last it is a breathtaking yet enjoyable challenge for golfers of all skill levels. Black Mountain Golf Club is simply stunning. Surrounded on three sides by the black mountains themselves, and retaining all the natural creeks and contours of the site upon which it was built, this is simply one of the very best courses in Thailand and is host to a joint European/Asian Tour event. At Banyan Golf Club, course architect Pirapon Namatra of Golf East has created a course with a fine layout and stunning sea and mountain views from most holes. The course was opened only in 2008 and was soon awarded Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific in a readers’ poll of Asia Golf Monthly magazine. It has since consistently gained numerous accolades both for the course and for the club house and amenities. Recently opened amidst much fanfare in 2010, Sea Pines Golf Course is located right on the beach and comes across like a tropical version of a Scottish links course. The pine trees from which the course takes its name are much in evidence, and together with the mountains and the ocean provide a stunning backdrop to a course whose difficulty is inextricably linked to the strength of the wind coming in from the Gulf of Thailand.

This is a tournament not to be missed as testified by previous attendees:
“As usual the whole 7 day event was memorable. The golf was naturally the draw card but besides the great golf courses memories include the sense of competition, camaraderie, catching up with old friends and meeting new. What an absolute pleasure” — Peter Rowe
